What this is, and what it is not
Training material on the commercial side of building services work, written for people who need to get a number right or hold a position under pressure.
Why it exists
Mechanical, electrical and public health packages carry a large share of project value, most of the risk, and almost all of the items that get missed. General commercial training treats them as a footnote — a chapter at the back of a measurement text. These courses do the opposite.
Everything is written for services work specifically, rather than adapted from general construction with the systems renamed. The worked examples use real quantities, and where a number appears it is there to demonstrate a method, not to be lifted into a live tender.
What we do not claim
These courses are not accredited, and they are not endorsed by any awarding body or professional institution. They do not lead to a qualification, they do not carry CPD points, and completing one does not entitle you to put anything after your name.
Where the material discusses institutions — RICS guidance on expert witnesses, say, or chartership routes — it is describing how the industry works, not making a claim about this site. If you need an accredited route, this is not one, and it is better to know that now than after paying.
What the courses do offer is the practical content: how to measure the work, how to price it, how the contract mechanisms operate, and what actually happens when a claim or a dispute is tested.
